Present Indefinite Tense in Urdu with Examples
In this blog, we are going to teach you present indefinite tense in Urdu with examples so that you can use this tense easily and make hundreds of sentences in your daily life conversations. Present indefinite is the 1st tense in English grammar and it is very crucial for making English sentences about daily life routine.
Present Indefinite Tense is used for those actions which happen in the recent time. It is used to talk about daily routine.
فعل حال متعلق ان کاموں کو ظاہر کرتا ہے جو باقاعدگی، معمول اور سچ ہوتے ہیں۔
Helping Verbs and Form of Verb
Helping Verb: Do / Does
Form of Verb: 1st Form
Note: we use 1st form + “s/es/ies” with singular subjects in positive sentences.
In this tense we do not use helping verb in positive sentences.
Do = I, We, You, They, (Plural Subjects)
Does = He, She, It, (Singular Subjects)
Affirmative/Simple Sentences – سادہ فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ
Formula: Subject + 1V + (s,es,ies) + Object + .
| I go to school. | میں اسکول جاتا ہوں۔ |
| He cooks food. | وہ کھانا پکاتا ہے۔ |
| She reads a book. | وہ ایک کتاب پڑھتی ہے۔ |
| They want a car. | وہ ایک کار چاہتے ہیں۔ |
| You write a letter. | تم خط لکھتے ہو۔ |
| They talk too much. | وہ بہت زیادہ بولتے ہیں۔ |
| I go to academy daily. | میں روزانہ اکیڈمی جاتاہوں۔ |
| Akram and Shazia ask questions. | اکرم اور شازیہ نے سوال کیا۔ |
| He teases him. | وہ اسے چھیڑتا ہے۔ |
| They always get late. | وہ ہمیشہ دیر کر دیتے ہیں۔ |
Negative Sentences – منفی/ انکاریہ فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ
Formula: Subject + Do/Does + not + 1V + Object + .
By adding “do/does not” to positive sentences of present indefinite tense and removing “s,es,ies” from the first form with singular subjects we can simply make negative sentences.
| She does not wash clothes. | وہ کپڑے نہیں دھوتی۔ |
| He does not go to school. | وہ سکول نہیں جاتا۔ |
| I do not go to school. | میں سکول نہیں جاتا۔ |
| They do not play cricket. | وہ کرکٹ نہیں کھیلتے۔ |
| We do not go there. | ہم وہاں نہیں جاتے۔ |
| Akram does not go to Islamabad. | اکرم اسلام آباد نہیں جاتا۔ |
| We do not tease them. | ہم انہیں تنگ نہیں کرتے۔ |
| He does not read a book. | وہ کتاب نہیں پڑھتا۔ |
| We do not learn Urdu. | ہم اردو نہیں سیکھتے۔ |
| He does not speak Arabic. | وہ عربی نہیں بولتا۔ |
Interrogative Sentences – سوالیہ فقرات
Formula: Do/Does + Subject + 1V + Object + ?
We add helping verbs “do/does” at the beginning of the sentence and at the end of the sentence we add “question mark (?)”.
| Does she read a book? | کیا وہ کتاب پڑھتی ہے؟ |
| Do they play football? | کیا وہ فٹ بال کھیلتے ہیں؟ |
| Does she go to college? | کیا وہ کالج جاتی ہے؟ |
| Do we speak English? | کیا ہم انگریزی بولتے ہیں؟ |
| Does she speak Arabic? | کیا وہ عربی بولتی ہے؟ |
| Do they wash clothes? | کیا وہ کپڑے دھوتے ہیں؟ |
| Does Akram write a letter? | کیا اکرم خط لکھتا ہے؟ |
| Do we cook food? | کیا ہم کھانا پکاتے ہیں؟ |
| Does he beat him? | کیا وہ اسے مارتا ہے؟ |
| Do you teach Urdu? | کیا آپ اردو پڑھاتے ہیں؟ |
Variations of Present Indefinite Tense – مختلف استعمالات
The present indefinite tense is frequently used in English. It is used to describe habits, unchanging situations, general truths, and fixed arrangements.
فعل حال متعلق انگریزی میں اکثراستعمال ہوتا ہے۔ اس کا استعمال عادت، نہ تبدیل ہونے والے حالات، عام سچائی اور مقررہ انتظامات کو بیان کرنے کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
1. Repeated Actions – روزمرہ کے معمول
We catch the taxi every morning.
ہم ہرصبح ٹیکسی پکڑتےہیں۔
They drive to Karachi every summer.
وہ ہر موسم گرما میں کراچی جاتے ہیں۔
2. For General Truths – عمومی سچ
Water freezes at zero degrees.
پانی سِفرڈگری پر جم جاتا ہے۔
The earth revolves around the sun.
زمین سورج کے گرد چکرلگاتا ہے۔
3. For instructions – ہدایات کے لئے
Do not look at me.
میرے طرفف مت دیکھو۔
Do not speak loudly.
تیز مت بولو۔
4. For Habits – عادت کے لئے
She speaks truth.
وہ سچ بولتی ہے۔
He drinks coffee at breakfast.
وہ ناشتے میں کافی پیتا ہے۔
5. To Show Property – جائیداد یا ملکیت کے لئے
Do you have a pen?
کیا آپ کے پاس ایک قلم ہے؟
I have two books.
میرے پاس دو کتابیں ہیں۔
I have a car.
میرے پاس ایک گاڑی ہے۔
